The rapid growth of child maltreatment cases globally is extremely high and effective treatment along with awareness is needed to move society away from the appalling rate of mental health problems , which negatively impacts future populations across the world's civilization. Without adequate treatment from a licensed therapist, some children are at risk of failing in their lives and ceasing to function in an uncaring society. In the developmental stages of childhood, it is more acceptable for them to learn coping skills and this will ease the pain of exposure to child abuse.
