Many have their rights taken away. They do not have the same rights as men when it comes to adequate nutrition, education and the right to be able to receive medical care when necessary. They considered less important. Since the area they grow up in is typically poor, they don't have as good healthcare facilities near them. Not having health facilities prevents them from receiving the care they need, whether it is treating them for an illness or assisting them during childbirth. Women also lose the right to marry whoever they want. They are put in a situation where marriage is arranged.
