In “Ghost House”, Robert Frost uses various analogies to show the beauty of the cycle of life and nature. Frost's analogies are used in the themes of nature, remorse, and nostalgia. Throughout the poem he uses metaphors to allow the reader to see his work from numerous perspectives. His use of imagery throughout the poem allows the reader to expand their own speculations about the poem's meaning. Frost's use of imagery and analogies allows the reader to imagine an abandoned house that nature is reclaiming. in the poem “Ghost house” the speaker is visiting his old residence and feels a lot of remorse. it is very clear that he feels remorse through his descriptions of his old home. In lines 1-3 he says "I live in a lonely house, I know it disappeared many summers ago and left no trace but the cellar walls." From his description of the house he seems dissatisfied with the condition of the house. In lines 11-13 he says, “I dwell with a strangely aching heart in that vanished mansion, far away on that disused road.” It is evident that he feels melancholy and melancholy. You can also tell that he is not satisfied with the visit and the appearance of the house. In lines 1-3 the speaker says “I live in a lonely house, I know it disappeared many summers ago and left no trace but the cellar walls.” It is evident that the speaker feels remorse. He is nostalgic for those many memories he had while living in this house. He gets emotional that the house has been forgotten. It's like returning to an old house you lived in as a child but which is now abandoned and decaying. You may feel sad about the condition, but think about all the memories created in the home. Frost's use of imagery allows the reader to imagine the house through the speaker's eyes. His metaphors cause the reader to expand their thoughts. His analogies show the beauty of nature and the cycle of life. With all the bad things come good things. Even though we go through difficult experiences such as death in life, there is always a positive side to things.
