Franklin Roosevelt once said, "Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds." Fate and destiny are influential depending on the individual. Some may believe that there are multiple roles in these significant terms. Some despise this phenomenon, such as the writer Douglas Coupland, who states in his book Girlfriend in a Coma: “Destiny is what we work for. The future doesn't exist yet. Destiny is for losers." You can push yourself to reach your ideal future. Destiny, the belief that all things in time are already decided, is what guides us through our lives. He is the silent spectator of everything we do and continually turns our destinies to take shape. Such opinions may well be correct, since fate is quite impossible to prove. Moreover, it is the development of events that are beyond a person's control. Not everything is preordained. The only determining factor of your destiny is yourself. Fate plays a considerable role in everyone's life. They are the events that will necessarily happen to a certain person or thing in the future. The inevitable fate that comes with destiny fabricates all the decisions of our existence. Every now and then, when something happens in our lives, we find ourselves wondering whether it was truly fate or whether the outcome was due to our actions. However, everyone has the ability to believe that the actions that affect their current way of life are due to a greater force. You always have the ability to make decisions and choose which path you would like to take, and each of these decisions will indefinitely have a positive or negative consequence. However, only positive results are recognized as destiny. On many occasions when something harmful happens... middle of paper... where all our emotions play a role. There are no small roles in this theater; each feeling will lead to another. But we are playwrights and we choose to tamper with our own script simply to influence how we want our lives to turn out. Ultimately, the control is in our hands, and if any of us decides to do something reckless without thinking about it, we should be held accountable for our actions. You have the choice to receive the knowledge and rewards that come with every action. Although the writer Douglas Coupland, who states in his book Girlfriend in a Coma, “Destiny is what we work for. The future doesn't exist yet. Fate is for losers”, we all have our own vision of what we believe fate and destiny are and what role it plays in our lives. But we must decide whether or not it will be the compass that will guide us throughout our existence.
