And this reminds me of a scene that's actually quite bizarre. When Nate convinces his parents that he asked the storks to bring him a new baby, his parents consciously understand that the world doesn't work that way. Dad even lets out an “Oh, man…” to his son, seemingly ready to give “the talk.” A conversation that never happens, however. But then how was Nate born? No one is ever pregnant in the movie, so, I mean, if people are conceiving babies for 18 years and now that the Stork Baby Machine is up and running again, they're somehow rendered infertile and infertile. People are giving birth to babies AND getting stork deliveries now?!? Even if the gentrification joke fails here, will the sequel address overpopulation?
