In the video, society's roles seem reversed compared to what is traditionally seen. West refers to the early days of our country where the African American race was enslaved to Caucasians. This is seen in a completely opposite light in West's video, as all Caucasians have reversed roles compared to African Americans. Because Kanye West is a popular icon in the music industry, both whites and blacks make up a lump sum of his audience, allowing him to have a greater impact on common thoughts about racism towards both groups. Most people feel very moved by the video as it puts them in a slight state of shock seeing this prominence of reverse racism in our culture today. This goes along with the title of the song "Monster", as West describes white people as monsters towards the black race, and he attempts to make a change to this. Through the use of vivid and extremely graphic imagery, West's music video forces the viewer to think about society and the role racism played hundreds of years ago and today.
