Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger Syndrome, a higher functional branch of autism spectrum disorder, affect many adults around the world. These disorders affect the development of thinking and social skills. Many adults have difficulty leading normal lives due to the effects of autism spectrum disorder and Asperger's syndrome. They have difficulties at school, at work and even in the social situations of everyday life. The article examines how autism spectrum disorder affects adults in areas such as: difficulty with higher education, difficulty finding and keeping jobs in the workforce, and difficulty in social situations. The article will conclude with how society views autism spectrum disorder and what it believes should be done. A rare problem among children today is autism spectrum disorder. More commonly known as autism, this disorder causes impaired social developmental skills among people diagnosed with this disorder. Although numerous people focus on children with autism spectrum disorder, there are also adults who suffer from this disorder. Numerous adults with autism spectrum disorder were diagnosed as children and grew up with the disorder. How are the lives of adults with autism spectrum disorder different from those of adults who do not have autism? Autism spectrum disorder, as well as Asperger syndrome (a higher functional branch of autism spectrum disorder), is a developmental disorder that affects a person's ability to understand information, handle social situations, and the behavioral personality of that person. Autism spectrum disorder is not something that can be diagnosed, it is hypothesized to be a genetic condition that is passed on through heredity. Although some people with...half of paper......might suffer from it. However, others see autism spectrum disorder and Asperger's syndrome as a way to individualize people with those disorders. These people believe that it is important to embrace the disorders instead of eliminating them. I personally believe that the choice should be decided by adults who are diagnosed with autism because they would have a better understanding of the effects of this disorder on their lives. Some may be happy to be able to differentiate themselves from the rest of society and live their lives in the way they think is best; however, others may desire a cure for what they believe is a curse upon themselves. Regardless of how they feel about autism spectrum disorder, adults and youth with autism are still living one day at a time, just like the rest of society..
