THE BITTERSWEET REVENGE“Revenge is always the weak pleasure of a small and narrow-minded mind” Juvenal, Roman poet. Irreproachable revenge is an act that is reviled by many, many have tried and what many others they wanted it. In reality it is a punishment for a wanderer, a success without being exposed and a realization without regrets of a pleasant punishment. Furthermore, the perception of revenge had almost existed since the dawn of the written word, humanity had a passion for severe revenge on others who persecuted us. For example, the oldest set of regulations that marked the establishment of standardized vengeance in human history is the Code of Hammurabi which was implemented by the sixth king of Babylon around 1760 BC. The code strictly believed in the concept of an eye for an eye; in fact that is exactly how it was expressed. Revenge also occurred as a kind of literature which refers to a complete genre of dramatic works. This was a practice clearly influenced by the Renaissance genre of the Roman playwright. Like Seneca the Younger, Stoic and especially Thyestes. These pieces provided many themes such as torture, sinister intrigue, madness and retaliation. However, another strong influence came from Italian literature which gave another impetus to the tragedy of revenge, strengthened by a stereotype that considered modern Italians unforgivable. Many of their legends encounter villains, sexual infidelities, private revenge, and bloody feuds between rival families. As a result, some scholars have classified Italian revenge as influenced by the medieval era, which is fulfilled by gruesome tales of revenge and bloodthirsty violence. Relatively, another important effect came from American literature which added an innovative vision to the theme of revenge...... middle of paper...... Fortunato. Montresor completes his task. As a result, his obsession and need for retaliation lead him to remorse. REFERENCE • "Juvenile Quotes Compiled by GIGA (Page 11)." Juvenile Quotes Compiled by GIGA (Page 11).
