When the hospital gave my mother a room, it was midnight and I was very sleepy. My mother told me to go into the room with her and so I did. I was falling asleep on a hospital couch while my mother screamed at the top of her lungs. Looking back I have no idea why I was in the delivery room. Mom kicked me out of there anyway. I wanted the memory of me being in the delivery room for that hour to stay with me as a reminder of how difficult it is to be a mother to begin with. Years later, it has stuck with me and helped me be a better daughter. I realized that my mother did everything to bring me to this earth and it wasn't easy for her to do so. From then on, even though I was kicked out of the room as soon as I saw her again, I have been as helpful and attentive to her as possible ever since. That moment I spend in the delivery room with my mother is actually one of the most special parts of the trip because it brought me and my mother closer.
