It changes the course of many things that still exist today and have caused many things. This war allowed the United States to become a world power and also reshaped the map of Europe and shifted the political powers of the world. A handful of people were responsible for this war, but the main figure that stands out during the World War II period is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was of course the supreme ruler or Führer of Germany. he was the cause of World War II when he invaded Poland on 1 September 1939 and was also the main figurehead of the Axis powers. Not only did he create one of the largest armies of the modern era, but he also had one of the largest empires of the modern empire, with his empire stretching from France all the way to the Soviet Union. Although he only lived 56 years he had a very eventful life and in just 11 years he changed the shape of the world. His life takes many unexpected turns, but all these events will lead him to conquer Central Europe and be one of the key figures in modern history. This is the story of his life from childhood to life as a young adult to his rise to Führer and his death. Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Salzburg Vorstadt Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungary, a city on the border with Bavaria, Germany. To Alois Hitler and Klara Pölzl When Hitler was three years old, the family moved to Passau, Germany. There he acquired the Lower Bavarian dialect, rather than Austrian German, which remained in his speech for the rest of his life. In 1895 his family moved to a small land... middle of paper... On April 1, Hitler was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in Landsberg Prison. There, he received friendly treatment from the guards and was allowed supporters' mail and regular visits from party comrades. The Bavarian Supreme Court granted pardon and he was released from prison in December 1924, despite the objections of the public prosecutor. Including time in pre-trial detention, Hitler had served just over a year in prison. While in Landsberg, Hitler dictated most of the first volume of Mein Kampf (My Struggle) to his deputy, Rudolf Hess. The book was an autobiography and a description of his ideas. The book exposed Hitler's plans to transform German society into a race-based society. Some passages implied genocide. Published in two volumes in 1925 and 1926, it sold 228,000 copies between 1925 and 1932. One million copies were sold in 1933, Hitler's first year in office.
