Most of the time, one's cultural disengagement does not tend to be resolved. I was actually surprised by this result because I thought I scored lower on cultural disengagement. The definition of unresolved in cultural disengagement is when you experience a lack of engagement in core aspects of a cultural community because I don't think I know much about my culture. One reason is because Malay culture is a combination of at least three cultures. These cultures may include Chinese, Indian, Malay and these cultures are also different in East Malaysia. Consequently, Malay culture is a combination of these cultures. I am not familiar with this Malaysian culture as I have been exposed more to Chinese culture than other cultures. There are some cultural differences within Chinese culture. Since my family is mostly Hokkien, we celebrate the fifteenth day of Chinese New Year, which other Chinese cultures rarely observe these days. We, however, do not celebrate in the same way as other Hokkien as the rituals are against Christian teaching. At the same time, I haven't had much exposure to other cultures since I didn't attend Malaysian public schools for most of my life. I was only exposed for the first 7 years of my life, but I was exposed more to Indian and Chinese culture for the last 11 years before coming to America. I think the main culture was
