If the product is so terrible the government needs to step in and protect the citizens, why shouldn't they protect them completely. In my opinion it is necessary to reevaluate the entire sector. I view tobacco no differently than I view other drugs such as marijuana and heroin. This doesn't mean that I don't believe in citizens' right to choose, this would lead us to a completely different discussion, but if you ban one you should ban everyone and on the contrary if you legalize one you should ban everyone in turn being legalized. In my opinion, governments should take a look at current policies and see how they deal with other substances and how they maintain the equivalent or make changes. Even though I know and understand firsthand the effects smoking has on an individual's health, I have to stand by and conclude whether the product is legal than the advertising should be. Instead of banning tobacco product advertising which promotes knowledge and publicity, the motivations to not smoke are more powerful and will bring more benefits. The tobacco industry is a hotly contested topic filled with conflicting research, health concerns, and the fight to protect rights. In this case study, the arguments for and against the ban on tobacco advertising in India were discussed, as well as the conflict of interest of the government and my opinion on the correct conduct of the government
