Nowadays, information is the cornerstone of modern enterprise, and the web has become the largest and most accessible information resource. The ability to collect, organize, manipulate information with computers has given business people the ability to manage information effectively. Information retrieval is a process and techniques of searching and interpreting information in order to archive data for easy retrieval when needed. In the article titled "Seven Ages of Information Retrieval", the author, Michael Lesk, explains the history or beginning of information retrieval based on the theory of Vannevar Bush 1945, Warren Weaver in 1949 and also refers to Shakespeare's theory 1955 which is seven ages of man, starting from childhood and up to senility. Vannevar Bush (1980-1974) was a leader in American science and engineering during and after World War II. He was instrumental in the development of the atomic bomb and the analog computer, as well as administrator of the government's scientific activities. By any measure, Vannevar Bush was one of the moves of the 20th century. (Encyclopedia of World Biography).Warren Weaver was born in 1984 in Reedsburg and died in 1978. He is a mathematician. He studied at the University of Wisconsin, taught there and directed the Natural Sciences Division of the Rockefeller Foundation (1932-55). He is considered the first to propose the use of electronic computers for the translation of natural languages. In a 1949 note, he proposed that statistical techniques from the field of information theory could be used to allow computers to automatically translate text from one natural language to another. He used a different term but it showed still the same meaning although different things. This article gives a positive impact to readers who have no knowledge of information retrieval because it discusses from the beginning of the existence of the theory based on the imaginary Bush and Weaver state what could go wrong and right in the Bush's imagery in retrieving development information.
