In today's society, there are many successful children's book authors, but few manage to break through to universal cultural consciousness, but Suzanne Collins did it. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, which is the story of 24 teenagers chosen by a cruel government and must fight each other in the annual Hunger Games. Plus, all matches are broadcast live on television! It really gives readers a spiritual shock! This novel is “narrow” and “deep”. In the novel, "Panem, the country that rose from the sorrows of a place once called North America... as our annual reminder that the dark days must never be repeated, gave us the Hunger Games." (6) The Hunger Games is an annual television program, the Capitol of the nation of Panem through a drawing ceremony to choose one boy and one girl in each district, and the child's life would be in danger, are between the ages of 12 and 18 years old, from 12 districts, were forced to fight to the death. As long as a person doesn't defeat everyone else besides them, that person is a champion. He/she can have a new home, with lots of food, fame and fortune. “All year long, the Capitol will show the winning district gifts of grain and oil and even delicacies like sugar, while the rest of us fight hunger.”(7) ) The arena was organized by artificial forests, wilderness. In the competition, the hunting, chasing, starving, camouflaging and so on, were televised live across the country and everyone had to watch and celebrate as if it were a party. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, survival her instinct, relies on the outdoors of District 12 to support her family. “I just have to go through a few gates to get to...... middle of paper...... Is the Games interview the most dangerous part of the Games? All this because of power. Life and death cannot be decided alone, always under the control of the big shots and the government. After finishing this book, I start to think, all the rules of the game are man-made, authoritative pressure is repeated throughout the book, but this book also shows how to survive in adversity and how to fight power. The meaning of life is not to get a good deck of cards, but rather how to fight against a worse deck of cards. It is no coincidence that The Hunger Games is among America's best sellers and continues to do well around the world. Even as we watch others suffer as they relax, we silently pray that the book's protagonist, Katniss, can transform from Phoenicians into Sparrows, as the Chinese like to say. Works CitedCollins, S.
