1. I choose the article about the two girls from Missouri who play the game “Ghost Train”. I think this article really shows how teenagers think of themselves as invincible. I think this also shows where they are from a cognitive development perspective. These girls thought that nothing could happen to them on those tracks and that it was all just a game. It saddens me to think that children at that age don't realize the possible consequences of this game, given that it was an active train track. It's easy to see where the personal fable comes into play in this article, as I said before they thought nothing would happen to them, they thought, "nothing bad will happen to me, accidents only happen to others." Luckily this story doesn't even have alcohol in it, but that's where you see most of the personal fables happen or like the other cinnamon challenge article. Teens know that it is dangerous and can potentially have negative side effects, but that only happens to others, it won't happen to them.
