Brice Wiese. Wiese had violated his probation request by failing to meet with his probation office and failing to notify the court of his change of job and address. Wiese was on probation for a previous bad check writing offense. General Strain Theory represents a coping mechanism used by individuals to deal with social and emotional problems generated by negative social relationships. In his final statement, Wiese explained to the court that his father would be released from prison after 10 years and that he would finally have a stable place to live where everyone would be sober. This leads me to believe that Wiese did not have a very positive upbringing, and I also speculate that he may be following in his parents' footsteps. I imagine Wiese grew up in a poor, lower class family where education had little importance. This may be why he struggles today. His actions are a mere coping mechanism, and that's the only way Wiese knows how to do it
