Hitler began by creating the Nuremberg Laws which did not allow Jews to do some of the activities that most people could do. The next infamous act was Kristallnacht, a two-day wave of destruction. Hitler's henchmen destroyed shops, synagogues and arrested 20,000 Jews (Bülow). Jews, communists, gypsies, homosexuals and other targeted groups were sent to concentration camps. The worst camps were Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor, Majdanek, Buchenwald and Dachau (Bülow). More than six million people were killed in the gas chambers of these camps alone (Bülow). More than six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust because Hitler despised them the most. When the Allied forces invaded Germany, Hitler knew he would be defeated and would eventually be captured. Instead of waiting for this to happen, he married Eva Braun on April 29, 1945 and then both committed suicide with a gunshot in April 1945. 30, 1945
