I once read that trust is the glue that binds the leader to his followers and provides the capacity for organizational success and leadership(Mineo, DL (nd). The Importance of Trust in Leadership Research Management Review, 20(1), 2014, 1-6 http://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1038828.pdf). For a team to function and be successful, a bond must be built. If there is no trust within a team, this causes problems and usually results in double work because instead of relying on someone you have to also do the work to ensure it gets done. This is unsuccessful and causes more headaches. To be a successful leader you need to have a great foundation. The foundation of a great work environment is created by organizational credibility, respect and fairness which form the foundation of trust (Mineo, DL (n.d.). The Importance of Trust in Leadership. Research Management Review, 20(1), 2014th ser., 1 -6. Retrieved from http://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1038828.pdf). When there is no trust it is simply impossible to lead and develop others. As a leader, how can you get others to trust and believe in you and your leadership if they don't fully trust you? Trust is not developed in a day but over a period of time. I believe that to be successful as a leader you just need to have a great foundation
