Topic > Ghosts: Undeniable or Unrealistic - 900

The supernatural world and the idea of ghosts are divided between skeptics and believers. As a matter of fact, you can't watch a scary movie, sit around a campfire, or walk out your front door on Halloween night without feeling these things. While entertaining, this is a shame as many people nowadays use these shows for more than they should be used for. Many use them as fire to fuel their arguments while others dismiss them as “fake” because they do not adequately represent ghosts. While seemingly important, the question should not be, do these shows and stories correctly portray ghosts, but rather, are they even real. This question, whether ghosts are real, is one that both skeptics and believers have been pondering for years as both sides really know the truth on the matter. In particular, the question has a certain importance since in any case, real or not, the idea of the ghost forces one to question one's beliefs, feelings and morals and to face the idea of death head on (Parra, 416 ). , ghost stories can be traced back to many different areas of life, including movies, short stories, and even ancient history. From depictions of ghosts in Shakespeare's famous plays to the famous movie “Casper,” there is no escape from what has quite easily become one of the most questionable topics today. Over time, these productions and publications led to continuous investigations and thus the issue developed. People on one hand say that ghosts are real since they claim to have encountered such figures. People who do not believe consider them simply invented and a figment of our imagination. With the lack of concrete evidence and a world full of technology, both sides have valid reasons to believe... middle of paper... the ghost will surely continue, there is always a place to look eye-to-eye. For now, it's possible that the common ground is simply that both sides agree that ghosts, real or not, come from some other realm than Earth. Whether one is a believer or not, both sides, for the most part, have been taught or think that ghostly images do not belong in this world as they are dead. This, although small, is a great starting point to open up the debate about the reality of ghosts or ghost-like figures. Additionally, it might be smart to simply agree on the need to further define what is considered a ghost as this might help people understand their position on the issue. No matter what the outcome is, we remain true to our beliefs, morals and feelings as this is truly the crux of the entire debate. We choose the path that best suits us because, in the end, we are the leaders of our lives.
