Prohibition was the 18th amendment to make alcohol illegal. The 21st Amendment called for the repeal of prohibition so that alcohol could be legal. Carry Nation plays an important role in Prohibition; she was the leader of the Temperance Movement. She was married twice: her first husband died of alcoholism and her second husband divorced. He has a hatred for saloons and bars. He also destroys bars and saloons. (Severn 76) Prohibition was called The Noble Experiment. It was first tried in America. Bootleggers and distillers were the main source people went to for alcohol. Bill MC Coy was a bootlegger, people went to him for alcohol, he is known for selling fine liquor. (Hanson 29) The repeal of prohibition is the 21st amendment, aimed at making alcohol legal in the United States. Some people didn't understand that repeal was going to happen and thought Prohibition was a good thing; it could make the world a better place. The repeal of the ban was agreed. Many people wanted to make alcohol legal in the United States. Some people didn't like the repeal because alcohol could kill a lot of people. The Temperance Movement group planned to extend Prohibition throughout the world. (Rodney Web) Prohibition lasted from 1920 to 1933, then was repealed in 1933. Alco poses was the greatest gangster of all time. It has been the cause of virtually all crimes. On the eve of prohibition, some cities sold their prisons because all the crime would have broken out. “Bathtub Gin” gets its name from the alcohol, glycerin and juniper juice were mixed in a bottle that was too tall to fit in a sink, so they had to put it in the bathtub. (Burns Web) When Prohibition reopened in Chicago, nearly 800 gangsters were killed in bootleg-related shootings. People were killed, blinded and even paralyzed due to the humidity... middle of paper... People made a lot of money selling illegal alcohol. They also sold all over the world. Carry Nation didn't care about people selling or drinking liquor. That's why she left her first husband when their daughter was born. Carry Nation died before seeing that the repeal of prohibition had been denied 20 years later. It had an impact on a lot of women then, especially the women of The Temperance Group, who were into it all. When she went and destroyed all the bars and saloons, a lot of people weren't happy that she did that, because drunk people needed a place to go at night. Although they should not be drunk. Her second husband left because she lost control. She has been called the famous bar breaker. She has been described as religious and eccentric.
