Topic > Analysis of the performance of the show South Park - 1144

Along with the relationships, the main focus of the episode was immigration to America. Normally, if someone talks about immigration, most people automatically think of illegal or undocumented immigrants from Hispanic countries. Yet that's what makes the episode funny: instead of Hispanics, it's Canadians who are seen as undocumented immigrants. Most people consider immigrants to be Hispanics from Mexico, but some, due to current world issues, classify immigrants as legal immigrants, Hispanics, refugees, and other unstable people. South Park addresses the problems of societies in today's world and uses satire to create their episodes. South Park makes a mockery of the immigration issue by replacing Hispanics with Canadians and asking Canada to build a wall to keep immigrants out of their country, ordered by a character who looks and acts like Donald Trump. The amount of satire and irony South Park highlights is similar to what some Americans think of our neighbors in both North and North America.
