It is well known that football players can injure themselves to the point that they have to stop playing. Dancers face the same difficulties. For example, in a double pirouette, if they spin without proper turnout they could hurt their knee for years or forever. Also, jumps are something they have to be very careful to handle. There are many leaps in the world of dance. The “Tour Jete” is one of many jumps, this is a jump where “…one foot comes out to the side and the other foot kicks out in a jump to meet the other foot. The dancer lands with the kicking foot…” If the dancer lands with the leg straight, there will be many humiliated faces and probably tears on the dancer's face. Any wrong move, landing or turnout could end a dancer's career for the rest of their life
