Immigration Reform At this time, the United States has allowed more immigrants into the country than at any time in its history. Over one million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the United States each year. Immigration, at its current level, does not meet the interests or demands of this country. With the country struggling to support the huge immigration of newcomers, life in America is suffering tremendously. Excessive pressure placed on the welfare system, excessive use of family reunification laws, and exploitation of immigration based on IT employment are reasons for immigration reform. The U.S. welfare system has difficulty supporting the huge number of immigrants who enter the country each year. Most immigrants come from poor countries and come to the United States looking for work. A research organization called the Urban Institute revealed that immigrants use more welfare and earn lower incomes than natives, which results in immigrants paying less taxes. The Urban Institute is a non-profit organization that investigates the social and economic problems of this country.
