In my essay I will write about the book Lord of the Flies. This book is written and narrated by William Golding. The setting of this story is World War II. Where a group of boys are flying towards a town but are shot down along the way. They manage to reach a nearby island where they orient themselves. The main characters are Ralph, Piggy, Jack, Simon. Then there are the little kids AKA the “littluns”. The deaths of Piggy and Simon are the greatest literal tragedies of Lord of the Flies. The main tragedy would be the loss of innocence that all the children on the island will experience. The boys knew that all civilization on the island was lost when the shell was destroyed along with Piggy. Another tragedy could have been when the whole island was burned, but it doesn't matter because right after the fire they were saved. You can read Lord of the Flies as religious or at least part of it. In the book's early chapters, the island itself resembles the Garden of Eden of Genesis, with its beautiful landscapes, delicious fruits, and fantastic climate.
