It was the cold that woke me up. I sat up slowly, rubbing my aching head. I could see my breath in front of me creating a mist on my face. There was very little light and my eyes struggled to look around. The floor beneath me was old, splintered wood. There was an eerie stillness and silence around me. I stood up carefully, only to fall to my knees from dizziness. I groaned and felt the spot on my head hurt so bad. I could feel the warm, sticky blood in my hair and began to panic. Why couldn't I remember how I got here? Where are they? I forced myself to calm down and slow my breathing. By this point my eyes had adjusted to the dim lighting enough to make out the cabin-like interior around me. It was almost bare except for the small, moth-eaten sofa and the rotten coffee table. This place must have been abandoned for several years. I reluctantly began to crawl towards the adjacent kitchen, for fear of falling if I stood up, and began looking for something to help my bleeding scalp. I felt around the broken furniture and shelves to no avail. I opened a rather strange looking cabinet, still in perfect condition, and reached inside, but quickly pulled my hand back in shock. The now bleeding fingertip throbbed with pain as I looked closer inside. There was an old engraved dagger sitting innocently in the center of the shelf. I quickly took it out and looked for something to wrap my wound with. In the end I used an old curtain cut into strips. Just as I was tying it around my head, I heard a creak in the floorboards above me. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as the crunching continued in the uniformed footsteps. Panicked, I looked around the room for some sort of escape route. There was a half...... middle of paper......, I tried to sit down but the ropes attached to my arm held me back and I felt dizzy when I tried to move. My mother will explain later. I was in a car accident and was in a coma for several days. The police report stated that I was driving when I was caught by the police for speeding. I heard the sirens and ran away. But while I was driving my car skidded off the road due to black ice. When the police started to catch up with me, I sped off again, this time my car hit another patch of black ice and went off the side of the road, hit something along the road and started rolling. I had struggled to remove my seat belt until I used a pocketknife to free myself and the police found me unconscious a few meters away due to blood loss with trauma to the head. I personally didn't remember anything about the car accident that happened, but I got into the habit of constantly looking over my shoulder.
