Topic > Character Analysis of Ralph and Ralph in Lord of the Flies

Ralph's plan doesn't work throughout the book, but even after the group splits he continues to try to bring everyone together and keep them strong and not let they give up. “A fire, light a fire!” This shows that Ralph is putting his knowledge into the group and trying to help everyone to make sure they can leave the island safely. Now, sometimes Ralph can be a very pushy and rude leader, but sometimes people need that kind of leader, such as the quote "Ralph pushed the pig aside, I was boss, and you will do what I say ". This shows that Ralph just needs to be a little bossy because if he doesn't the group will end up doing what they want and will end up splitting up. Some people are on the side that Jack is the better leader because he is very pushy and overbearing, but he would just take the authority overboard, but Ralph knows when to take his authority to the next level.
