Topic > An Analysis of the "Trials" by Richard Rodriguez - 956

The father in "Trials" wants what is best for them and their future. Blumenfeld puts his life on the line for his beloved father when he carries out his mission, and Omar sacrifices his life for his family when he is part of the organization. Another similarity to the theme of family is the emotional connection that both essays capture. Both give points of view through different eyes, but the reader can still grasp the theme from all angles. For example, even though “Proofs” is narrated by a teenager, that doesn't mean the reader can't experience the emotions the father faces, and the same goes for “The Apology: Letters from a Terrorist.” It's written by Blumenfeld herself, which can be a little misleading, but the emotions of Omar's ending are completely unbiased and still deeply
