Reflection paper1. Reaction to Activities At the beginning of the lifeline exercise I didn't know how to work out ten transitions. I felt lost and thought it would be a difficult exercise. After completing it, I felt much better. It wasn't as difficult as I thought. As I reflect on the transition, I notice how I have grown and learned from each transition. I know I have made many mistakes in my past transitions, but I have also learned from my mistakes and improved after each transition. After finishing the lifeline exercise, I felt more positive and believed in myself because I know I did in the transition. Also, as I was writing the chapter titles, I noticed how my life turned into a pattern. I was always on the move and it seems like I was always in a transition which made me feel unsafe. But when I look back on each complete transition, I feel more accomplished and satisfied with my accomplishments. In 1995 I moved from China and joined my parents in Africa. It was one of life's biggest transitions. I left school and classmates without saying goodbye because at that moment I didn't know how to say goodbye. And during that time all I thought about were the emotions of the new beginning. But looking back on it now, I know that at that moment I was anxious about all the unawareness that awaited me. After landing in Harare, I was terribly lost and didn't know what I was doing there. And once I even asked my parents if I could go home to my grandparents. So, looking back now, I know I was in the end zone because I was lost and afraid of all the things in front of me. At that time I didn't know what the reason and purpose was for studying there but......halfway......second career unit and how he can transfer skills and knowledge from previous job which will help him to move on to the next phase. In the neutral zone, customers typically feel lost, confused, or in between. Customers can also move back to the end zone or move forward to the new beginning. Therefore, as a career counselor, you need to encourage them to move forward and remind them of their goals so that they have direction on where they want to go. During that time customers will also feel lost and empty, so you will need to listen to their feelings and be honest. Furthermore, in the new beginning, clients are able to see opportunities for themselves and are ready to initiate changes. And as a career counselor you will have to encourage them to continue what they are doing so that you can increase their self-confidence and self-esteem..
