The process of formulating and implementing strategies reflects a flow of activities involving decision making and deciding on available options (Adair, 2010). Creativity while developing ideas leads to making good decisions that counteract the problem at hand. A strategic process uses creative means to integrate its thought stages. The creative articulation of problems and the resolution process shows challenges and problems that strategists must overcome to achieve strategic change. The traditional perception that a strategic process takes the linear form of analysis, formulation and implementation is therefore widely criticized as strategists see strategic thinking as more intuitive and creative rather than linear or rational (De Wit & Meyer, 2005).
