Topic > Essay on Being an Archetype - 631

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is the first film in a three-part series. Frodo Baggins is the main character of the film and is an archetypal hero. After watching the film, you can't help but relate Frodo's experiences to those of humanity. We all face challenges in life and sometimes, as human beings, we have to face these challenges or tasks. Remaining calm and tackling these challenges or tasks will reward you after you overcome the feat. Frodo is an example in a fantasy mythological world that can also relate to humanity in the real world when it comes to dealing with human-related tasks. Frodo is considered an archetypal hero because he is the one who must defeat or ruin the Dark Lord's plans. He has a job to do, just like all of us and even though it was forced upon him, he accepted the challenge. He is considered the protagonist of the film while the Dark Lord is the antagonist. At first Frodo is doubtful and feels uneasy about the task and it is his decision whether he wants to risk his life for this good deed not only for himself but for the people. Frodo is considered a hero because he accepts the challenge or task and knows what needs to be done. Although the challenge is tough, Frodo still decides to face it. Destroying the dark ring and foiling the Dark Lord's plans is not an easy task but Frodo, being the hero he is, shows in the film that he will accept the task. Choosing to risk his life to defeat the Dark Lord proves that he is truly a hero. Frodo's experiences are universal to humanity. For some, the fight against your own evil that seeks to bring you down can be as much about Frodo as it is about humanity. Facing challenges and tasks that you may not face… middle of paper… makes us realize that no matter who we are, anything is possible as long as we go out there and do our best to make it happen. As the saying goes, "there is always light at the end of the tunnel." We are all capable of learning something from Frodo. It shows us that we can all be heroes in our own way. His experiences are identifiable with those of mankind and demonstrate that even when we are faced with challenges and feel like giving up, there is always hope and we can overcome the challenge or task at hand. Frodo is a model that we can draw inspiration from in the real world because he is not very different from us. Just like us, he experiences both pros and cons, but is up to the challenge. Always working hard and having a positive mindset will lead you to bigger and better things in life and you will end up feeling like a hero in your vision and world. For me, Frodo is both a hero and an inspirational role model.
