What has greatly influenced the concept of suspense is the use of light: by providing little or no light in the scene, it can be understood differently than a scene with bright lighting. Another thing is the use of sounds. Hitchcock used sound in his films only when absolutely necessary. He chose silence to stress and increase suspense. What Hitchcock focused on most is the use of bright, terrifying colors and scary music, like in his famous film Psycho, to fool the audience.
