Marco Polo had a very important influence on his country. Marco Polo was born in Venice, Italy, in 1254. Marco Polo was an influence for the exploration of Europe. Marco Polo had set sail for Italy. It had many positive effects on Europe and inspired many explorers. He explored Asia from 1271 to 1295. When Marcus reached Asia he was a personal aide to Kublai Khan. Kublai Khan was a Mongol leader. Marco's father and uncle had both gone exploring and were traders when he was little. Marco's father and uncle had returned after nine years of exploration. Marco then returned to Italy after his exploration and joined the battle of the Genoese. He was later captured and put in prison for a year. Then he met a man while in prison with him named Rustichello who was a writer. He wrote a book with all the stories of Marco Polo entitled "TRAVELS".
