Topic > Persuasive Speech: You can stop the genocide in Darfur

Statement of Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to get involved and help stop the genocide in DarfurIntroductionI stand before you a white male, who has not experienced much of this world; I'm only fifteen. I have little knowledge of our societies and how we work, but it is obvious how political powers think and how they run the world. We should not only think greedily in our minds, we should not only think about the benefits for ourselves, we should think about our brothers and sisters. We are all the same, yet we consider others different from us. We are no different. Some are better off than others, some are rich, some are poor, some are sick and some are healthy, yet we are all the same apart from these petty distinctions. We have all suffered at some point, life is full of these moments, we console those who are down, suffering, we want to make them feel better... but what about the extreme cases, when our brothers and sisters are subjected to enormous amounts of ethnicity-based violence, otherwise known as petty differences. “No war, peace, no war, peace, no war, peace”. No matter how many times we say something, if we are not dedicated to our beliefs and our sincere lyrics about life, then everything means nothing. These two words “Never again” mean nothing. We said these words with the intention of supporting them, to never allow the genocide to happen again. But immediately after these words the cycle of genocide began again. In the last sixty-four years, approximately thirty-seven cases of genocide have occurred. This is obviously a statistic that shames the world, and if you had even the slightest bit of compassion in your bones you would… a middle of paper… there in conflict would you run and hide? If your family asked for your help, would you turn a blind eye? We are all one family, all human beings should stick together, help each other, lift each other up from the quicksands of suffering. Please listen to my message. Listen to our brothers and sisters who silently whisper for help and do not turn away. Listen, plan and act. Don't just silence the cries of your mind and replace them with something more joyful. They will still be there trying to get attention, that won't make them disappear. Conclusion Don't look back at this moment and feel ashamed once again for not taking action, feel proud that you stopped the annihilation of our brothers and sisters. Don't allow another Rwanda. It's up to you. Act now and save lives. Our brothers and sisters call Act now and save them while there is still time.: Thank you
