Although much of the research on school completion emphasizes the psychological traits of students and the organizational characteristics of school systems, little has examined the impact of health. However, health directly and indirectly affects school dropout rates. Substance abuse, teen pregnancy and mental health problems are some of the leading causes of student dropout.
