Value Chain for McKesson Provider Technologies (MPT) The value chain consists of the input of information or materials that flow to the output of the final product used by consumers . MPT is a healthcare capital equipment and information systems manufacturer that focuses on reducing costs while adding value to healthcare consumers. MPT targets IDMs, hospitals, physician practices, home healthcare providers, retail pharmacies and healthcare payers. Inbound logistics at MPT consists of the research and development of information technologies and installation methods to meet the information processing needs of our consumers. You need to gather information about consumer needs and then build systems to meet individual needs. The system equipment is generally assembled at the customer's site by consultants and/or employees of our organization. Outbound logistics includes the distribution of technological components such as computers, hardware, software or robotics. According to McKesson's annual report, MPT provides hardware and software to more than 70% of hospitals in the United States that have more than 200 beds. Value is further delivered to our customers through consulting, implementation, support and services provided to complement our products. Marketing and sales are done through client executives assigned to each of the clients. These representatives generally build a deep and lasting relationship with customer contacts so that they can adequately evaluate their needs and desires.
