The practice of yoga has been practiced for countless years. It originated in ancient India as people sought to maintain a state of eternal peace. There are several yoga traditions in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Indian gurus first introduced yoga to the West. Later, in the 1980s, yoga became a popular physical exercise system throughout the Western world. The first archaeological evidence of the existence of yoga is found in stone illustrating symbols and figures of yoga poses. These place the existence of yoga around 3000 BC, or even earlier, perhaps in Stone Age shamanism. Yoga can be practiced anywhere and anytime. Some equipment can be used to make exercise easier, while other tools are available to challenge and intensify the workout. A sticky mat, made with padding and equipped with friction to increase safety during yoga practice. Foam block is a dense foam that supports weight and is generally used by beginners to extend their reach in practice. The yoga belt is made of cotton or nylon which helps align and support your back, while also helping to extend your grip. This helps in muscle stretching, especially in the hamstrings. A yoga blanket or towel is used to keep warm or provide padding for numerous yoga poses. Since yoga does not require any equipment, the price to practice it can range from zero to more than hundreds of dollars. Some tools will make the practice more comfortable; this can include a mat ($89), towel ($25-40), or blocks ($40 for two).
