There are several characteristics of kaizen, starting with the understanding that continuous improvement is an ongoing cycle and not a one-off event. A second feature is that everyone in the organization should participate, from employees working on the assembly line to senior management. From the data it can be concluded that when management is involved and enforces procedures, positive results are evident. Greater attention is therefore needed from management. It is simply not enough for employees to be trained on procedures without reinforcement and persistent support from leadership. Renewed management attention must be implemented daily until it becomes part of the
