Without warning, the lights went out. This was the moment I had been waiting for. My adrenaline went through the roof. The time had finally come when I could see and hear my first live concert. I had never been to a big concert with a famous band. A couple of weeks before the concert I received some information about it, but I didn't really think much about it. I talked to some friends about the band and we all randomly decided to go get tickets. Little did I know it would be an absolutely spectacular moment. Nathan, Alex, my sister, her friends, and I all arrived at the Avalon Theater in Smallville. We arrived about half an hour early, so the place was just starting to fill up. As I got closer and closer to the theater, I felt particularly emotional. “I'm about to listen to a band I've enjoyed listening to since my sixth or seventh year of middle school.” I thought to myself. Upon entering the theater, handing my ticket to the ticket clerk, I watched the workers scurry around trying to make sure everything was perfect for the next concert. Chrome-edged boxes were stacked in a couple of corners, and the occasional person took something instrumental from one. In the adjacent corner of the building were some Jars of Clay souvenirs. There were posters, CDs, clothes, key chains and many other visually appealing items on the tables. As the crowd accumulated, it moved toward the doors leading to the theater proper. I could see that some kind of fog machine was at work. A pale fog came out of the cracks in the door. The discreet sound of the music could be heard just above the chatter of the crowd. Behind those doors was an electrifying adventure that was about to enter...... middle of paper......into me. For the first time ever at a concert, it was worth it. At the end they said goodbye, sang one last song and then left the stage. Well, at least we thought they did. As soon as they left the stage everyone started chanting, "We want more!" repeatedly for about five minutes. Finally they returned to the stage and performed one last song. I thought it was great of them to do another song like that for us. When the final song ended and the Jars of Clay were off stage, the lights suddenly came on. Everyone started leaving the theater. I wanted to listen to their music again, but as soon as they left they left the same way. My adrenaline was still high even when we got to our vehicles. “This was definitely a great experience for me.” I thought to myself. “I really hope I can do it again."
