ROMULUS MY FATHER ESSAYThe individuals in Romulus were shaped by their experiences. In the biography "Romolo Mio Padre" the characters encounter many different situations and travel to foreign lands, these experiences shape and change their characters. In the novel some characters suffer breakdowns, others come into conflict with each other and some even die, from these we see the characters become independent, stronger, weaker and even lose control and collapse. Romolo meets a girl named Cristina, although he likes her, she does not value all aspects of her personality, she changes and adapts to her needs and desires. Romolo later has a nervous breakdown and commits himself to a psychiatric institution, which is why Raimond becomes more independent and sees that his father is not indestructible. These are just some of the many experiences that change and sculpt the characters over the course of the novel. Romolo meets a girl called Cristina, he is immediately attracted to her but soon realizes her characteristics and does not particularly share them. Although Romulus loved reading, church ritual, and music, he mistook Christine's passion for the theater for snobbery. He took great care of her, Christine suffered from particularly severe asthma and Romulus then decided to move to Australia because this could improve his health. although Romolo did not want to move, he did so anyway due to Christine's health, "the severity of her asthma convinced him that they needed to find a better place for her health". This transition helps Romulus become a better provider in this new and different land, he takes on a strong provider role but when Christine quickly becomes irritable with the other men in their migrant camp, he also becomes a stronger role model as he takes on the lead role. take care of Raimond since Christine is not responsible enough. This strengthens the relationship between Romulus and his son, as he teaches his son valuable qualities and traits that will help him later in life. Christine becomes even more reliable and Romolo takes Raimond with him to the work section of the camp, Swarba is a man who stays in the same building as Romolo and one day discovers that he lacks aftershave. Raimond is asked if he had taken it and immediately denies any wrongdoing, Romulus slaps Raimond because he believes he is lying, Rainmond could not believe that stealing such a small bottle should be punished so harshly.
