7 billion people on Earth, approximately “852 million people were undernourished in the period 2000-2002” (Müller and Krawinkel 2), why can't we all work together to end hunger in the world? Hunger exists worldwide, and “malnutrition continues to be a major problem throughout the developing world, particularly in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa” (Müller and Krawinkel 1). We must spread the word about world hunger and fight it until hunger and malnutrition are defeated. We have enough food supplies for every single person on this Earth and if we unite we can defeat hunger. Creating a nutritional formula to add to food or liquids could help save thousands of children in developing countries from malnutrition by providing essential nutrients like vitamin A or CA formula does not necessarily mean baby formula. Children older than 1 year suffer from malnutrition, a very important problem in many developing countries. Malnutrition is a lack of essential nutrients in their diet and results from deficiencies of vitamin A, zinc, iron and iodine. More specifically, “malnutrition is a state in which adequate nutrients are not supplied to cells to provide the substrate for optimal functioning” (Uchendu 193). We associate formula with baby food, but children in developing countries also need it, or more specifically, they need a substance that can provide them with essential nutrients because they often don't eat nutritious meals. This is not to say that children do not need this formula. According to Sally Grantham-McGregor, “…malnutrition in the first months of life is uncommon.” By creating a nutrient-rich substance, it can help prevent malnutrition in both infants and young children and is “the best means of preventing micro……half paper……. The formula with the help of LifeStraw could help save thousands of children from malnutrition. Imagine a world without malnutrition in third world countries, who could thrive into something great and become someone they would never be if they became malnourished. Changing one aspect of a child's diet could help change the course of their entire life for the better. This could help create a better world and a better life for generations to come.
