Growing up, I never expected to see technology get to this point. In my time, iPhones and tablets were the most desired objects among all young people. Now, at least it seems to them, not having those items means being an outcast. The social media aspect of our society here in New York has completely overwhelmed and trapped everyone who lives here. Even in my job as a secretary for Proctor Technologies, I have to use Facebook, Twitter and some other sites to communicate with customers. Questions are now answered via live chat or private message. They don't even provide us with an office phone anymore. Even in society, phones have completely lost their original purpose, now they are mainly used only for texting and social media. Sometimes I don't know how these younger generations do it, now in 2045. But, silly me, they grew up surrounded by social media and advanced technology, much more advanced than what I grew up with.
