Topic > Essential Job Skills for Success - 648

For every job you have, you will need to possess a certain set of skills to be successful. For example, two people are trying to get hired, but only one person will actually get the job. The two people have almost identical resumes but some things make them different. While the first person was able to articulate his ideas during the interview, the second person was not. The first person was incredibly dedicated to getting the job while the second was not. Last but not least, the first person was able to adapt to the fast-paced work unlike the second person. In the end the first person got the job thanks to his dedication, flexibility and communication skills. It would be extremely useless to undertake a job without possessing, in my opinion, these very important skills. While there are several job skills that are essential to being successful, I firmly believe that being dedicated, adaptable, and possessing phenomenal communication skills are the most important. To get started, I honestly believe you need to be dedicated to your work. You need to be one hundred percent dedicated to whatever you are doing if you want to achieve substantial results. If you look at the statistics, you will realize that it took years of blood and sweat, otherwise known as dedication, to achieve something fulfilling. Jesse Owens once stated, “We all have dreams. But to make dreams come true, it takes a lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and commitment. I honestly believe that if you want to succeed in your profession you must be willing to put in the work. You won't be satisfied with your work if you don't do everything you can to get it done. To summarize, you must… middle of paper… be able to communicate your thoughts and ideas in your profession. You may feel like your job is “set in stone” and will never change, however, everything in your career, as well as life, is constantly changing and you need to be able to go with the flow. As I noted, I truly believe that the many job skills needed to be successful include dedication, communication, and adaptation. First of all, you need to be dedicated to your career if you want exemplary results. Equally important, being able to articulate your ideas and communicate them intellectually will ensure you have a successful time in your profession. Last but not least, to be successful in your job, you need to be flexible towards inevitable obstacles. I urge you to make the effort to learn these essential job skills because it's worth it.
