It has been almost a century since the first Paris Peace Conference was held, but to this day it is a popular but also controversial event in world history. The Paris Peace Conference took place in 1919 involving more than 1,000 representatives from over 30 nations. The result of the Conference are five treaties regarding terms that, according to the Conference, prevent any imminent conflicts between the nations. Although World War II did not begin until 15 years later, the treaties still functioned as a buffer between the countries. Although many resolutions were discussed, the Conference's negotiations revolved around four main themes: reparation for losses from previous wars or limitations imposed on the major central power, Germany, self-recognition, President Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points, and annexation of lands. A war reparations resolution was proposed by both Australia and the United Kingdom, and eventually became Article 231 of the Treaty of Versailles. The article placed full responsibility for the war on Germany, required that Germany take full responsibility for causing the war, and must pay a series of reparations set by the Great Powers. The reparations impositions were considered a retaliation for the reparations imposed on France by Germany in the Treaty of Frankfurt after the Franco-Prussian War. The form of war reward varies between different forms, from coal, steel and gold, to intellectual property. According to the treaty, Germany will finish repaying the reparation in 2020. The reparation, without a doubt, is just another indirect way to limit Germany's growth in every possible field and has added another couple of shackles to the already weakened German economy, some of which historians believe...... half of the document ......res Peace Conference, the nations that proposed land annexation as a resolution even reached the number of six, causing strong power struggles and tensions between nations, which defeated the original purpose of the Paris Peace Conference. At the Paris Peace Conference the question of Asia was also raised: whether or not China should have its sovereign authority returned from Japan. The Chinese addressed this problem through a cultural movement, the May Fourth Movement, which convinced China not to sign the treaty. The Paris Peace Conference concluded on January 16, 1919 with the signing of five treaties and the birth of eight new independent nations. Even though the Paris Peace Conference ended more than 80 years ago, no one can deny its impact on the world decades later. Human history would surely have changed forever if any of the outcomes of the Conference had been different.
