The fall and decline of the Roman Republic became an act of survival and completely destroyed Rome. The only way for farmers to survey would be to make their own combat equipment and they would struggle every day, they had nothing. The land would be ugly and would not be maintained because they had nothing to maintain it with and they were poor. The farmers had no choice but to sell their property to the Romans, also known as Socrates. Furthermore, in 133 BC the Gracchi brothers tried to improve the situation by moving the farmers to North Africa, but they were both killed along the way. Marius and Sulla represented a new role for the Roman army but soon found themselves pitted against each other. Marius made a list of Sulla's friends and had them killed. Sulla was smarter, he made a list of Marius' associates and killed them and took their properties and this act made Sulla a hero and dictator overnight. The development of two groups occurred, Optimate was one and Populare was another group. The Optimates were powerful senators and the Populares were supporters of the Roman people. The first Triumvirates (coalition) were divided into 3 important men. Crassus was one, the richest man in Rome and Pompey, the military general and Julius Caesar, the popular supporter. Crassus would suppress Spartacus' war of slavery and he and Pompey would die. Julius Caesar was a very intelligent man, he competed and obtained many countries, but later he died at the hands of his friend Brutis, he stabbed him several times. In conclusion, during this period in Rome, it was all about battles, defeats and consensus. each other for wealth and power. People had friendship but, later, they became enemies and killed their friends and family and then each other for being the most worried. ...... middle of paper ...... In addition, the monks helped travelers and helped the sick who passed through the forest. They saved everything about history, about what was happening, about who the powerful people were and who they were dealing with at the time. The monks advised the Germanic kings and people on what to do and what not to do and would work as missionaries. The monks were not afraid of the kings, they always told them how they felt and this was surprising at that time because the king could have anyone killed. In conclusion, I believe what the monks did was show dedication to what they believed in and that is very brave in that period, they all obeyed the kings. The monks continue to pray to God, live in isolation and obey the abbot. I feel the utmost gratitude towards the monks for saving history, because we would have no idea what happened in the past and they also had something to do with freedom.
