Personally I don't think so, but I know there are many ways to waste time on electronics. Just as there are ways to use social media productively by showing awareness or building community, there are also ways it can waste time. Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are just a few examples of social media apps/websites that teens can waste hours on. Time can pass a lot faster than you think just by scrolling through your friends' spring break photos or watching that cute video of kittens playing with a ball of yarn over and over again. There are also apps like Youtube where you can waste time watching endless videos about things you don't even know how you got there. Another way to negatively use screen time that comes in the form of apps is to play time-wasting games. The world of gaming is vast and there are so many different types of games that you can play in different places. I'm talking specifically about games you play via electronic devices. I like to divide the games into 2 groups; long and short term. There are more short-term games, but teenagers spend more time on long-term games. I like to think of short-term games as the games you play when you have nothing to do or are procrastinating. They are quick games (depending on how many times you play them), that sometimes have levels, which you can play to get a high score and eliminate them when you just don't like them
