On February 6, 1911, Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois. His parents were Nelle and John Reagan. Ronald Reagan's father, Jack Reagan, primarily sold shoes. He was a co-owner of a shoe store. His mother worked as a shop assistant and seamstress in a local clothing store. Ronald had a brother, his name was Neil, he was a couple of years older than him. Ronald Reagan had an excellent education, attending high school in nearby Dixon, and then decided to go to college at Eureka Collage. There he went to collage and studied economics and sociology. While attending the collage he played football and acted in some theater plays. He became a radio sports announcer. Screen tests in 1937 earned him a contract in Hollywood. Over the next two decades he appeared in 53 films. Ronald Reagan was in World War II, helping with filming and was in the Army.
