The psychology department also met my expectations, but I wish there were more obvious internship opportunities for a current freshman. UofA has such a diversity of students, that sometimes I feel like I'm just another number, and I wish I could stand out more than I currently do. I hope that in the future I will have a more direct role on campus than I currently have. Although it is not the end of the academic semester, I have achieved my academic goals with the exception of one class. Math has always been a challenge for me and I think I will eventually get a B in the class. My goal was a 4.0 GPA in the first semester, but instead I will defer that goal to the following semester. My personal goals were achieved because I was successful in my first semester in college and I still love UofA and education in general. This course has helped me clarify that I am interested in becoming a psychiatrist and has improved my understanding and knowledge in the field of psychiatry. Because I have a better understanding of psychiatry and the field in general, I will be able to prepare for the next step in my life.
