They are all striking different poses, almost as if they are leaning against the wall. Some women have very abstract faces, one of them appears to be wearing a mask. Describes Picasso's interest in African sculpture and how he incorporated it into his passion for art. The way the women are drawn, with their sharp-edged bodies, shows how Picasso was starting to evolve the new style of Cubism. It took Picasso months of revision to finally display this work
