Reading has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was a child. I grew up like a normal child should grow up and eventually had to start learning to fit into society. My literacy began many years ago, after knowing how to speak and communicate with people. Reading the alphabet was quite stressful and I had to get help from my family. I remember my parents reading with me and it was the most meaningful and memorable way to spend time with me. This is because I really liked reading and I wanted to learn so I could integrate with my older brothers. My favorite books were storybooks that were about adventures and fairy tales as they created fantasies for me (Rodriguez 16). My parents read the stories aloud to make me understand and I realized that it was important for them to do so as it helped me a lot. My sister would read me stories from her own books and that confused my little head, considering the level of education she had was high for me at the time. As I think about it now, it wasn't a bad idea since it prepared me for more complex learning that was to come. My teacher taught me to write my name and simple words. A few years have passed and I have started to gain confidence in reading. I leafed through my father's newspaper and read, even though I stuttered as I read word for word. Every time a bill was brought in, I would cry to read it to them, and I was allowed to read it even though they actually had to wait some time for the information to be fully passed in order for it to be understood (Richter 18). In my class, each of the students was given a paragraph to read and it had to be read aloud. I was among the pupils classified as average and seeing some pupils achieve worse results than me... middle of the paper... tell me about other people's experiences and how they became experts. Also, reading is an important skill because it sets the direction of my writing skills, and by reading I have learned a lot of vocabularies because the more I read the more words I learn. The last beneficial impact of reading is that reading improves my memory and develops my memory to avoid facing difficulties during my academic career. I am so grateful to have this wonderful trait, also grateful to my parents and my old teachers who helped me become a good reader. Therefore, my advice to students is to try to make reading part of their daily life so they can learn quickly. College students especially need to engage in reading as they will one day be in a position where someone will need to be fully capable of giving speeches and reading lots of documents to do their job properly
