Not many people can handle the stress of being a social worker, but in the end it is very rewarding. This job is not an everyday job for some people, it is very hard and helps people with situations that a person doesn't see every day. As a social worker, it takes a long time to connect with people and make them understand that what they are going through is not okay. There are two types of social workers: direct social workers work with people to help them deal with everyday situations, and a clinical social worker diagnoses people with medicine to help them with problems (What Social Workers Do). Social workers help in a variety of situations such as adoption, terminal illness, and children in school (What a Social Worker Does). Some social workers focus on certain groups of people such as children and women (social worker). Clinical social workers are licensed; they treat and diagnose people, provide therapy, evaluate people's background and history, and encourage people to want the best for themselves (what social workers do). Clinical social workers typically work in private or group practice (What Social Workers Do). As a social worker you may have a job that involves supervising other or new social workers (social workers). When they get new clients, they interview them to see how much assistance they will need before going into their social work sessions. When working in private practice, social workers typically keep a patient registry (What Social Workers Do). This field requires very little schooling.
